Avincis
Negru de Drăgășani

A unique grape variety that has its origins in the Drăgășani area, where it reveals its best characteristics. The grapes are sorted a second time on a conveyor belt to ensure only healthy, ripe fruit is used. 100% of the grapes are de-stemmed before undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation. 30% was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Identity for the Oltenia area, this deep purple color wine has a powerful bouquet with a touch of spices, flavors of black fruits such as black cherries and blueberries and a note of violet, and the palate is generous and delicate at the same time, with intense cherry juicy flavors with a subtle hint of fresh pepper. Served at around 18°C, it also goes nicely with dry duck breast or a slow cooked meat with a wine sauce.

About the winery

Avincis

The Vila Dobrușa estate was inaugurated in 2011 and includes the mansion, the Avincis winery, 43 hectares of vines, several hectares of forest and landscaping. The most interesting experience of the field - beyond wines - is given by the ultramodern architecture of the winery, as opposed to the style of the mansion. Both the restoration of the mansion and the project of the winery are signed by the architect Alexandru Beldiman. The winery was designed as a ship located at the top of Dobrușa hill, perfectly integrated into the landscape, with walls plated with Arnota limestone, with grass that goes up to the roof and with a concept that ensures the circulation of winemaking flows by gravity. The Drăgășani vineyard is appreciated for fine, cool white wines with a good acidity. The red wines from the region, especially Cabernet Sauvignon and the local Negru de Drăgășani variety, also enjoy recognition. The soil on Dobrușa hill is calcareous and clayey, and the climate is temperate continental, with Mediterranean influences. Olt plays an important role in maintaining a balanced climate, providing good humidity, even in the hottest months of summer.
