Băbească Neagră


Made from a variety of ancestral grapes, very rare today, Băbeasca Neagră is light, very fruity, with a very subtle aromatic intensity, in which you recognize the chocolate and cherries. Grapes are harvested following organic agriculture rules. The production is limited to 6-7 tons of grapes per hectare, from 4,300 plants per hectare. The vinification process follows bio and eco rules, with a limited addition of sulphur products or any other foreign additions. With a ruby red color and its fragrance, with a note of fruit (prunes and cherries), all of these gives it a fresh, fruity and aromatic taste. It serves excellent cold, at a temperature of 16-18° C, along with cheeses, seasoned pasta or white meat.

About the winery

La Sapata

La Sapata - The Danube Delta winery works an area planted with vines of 20 Ha and a winery of 300 sqm. The vine varieties are, for the white one: Fetească Regală, Rkţitel, Riesling, Sauvignon, Muscat Ottonel and for the red one: Merlot, Băbească, Blauer, Sangiovese.The vineyard is called Sarica Niculiţel, and the soils are not rich, but are weak and sandy, revitalized by aromatic plants, which have proliferated years of neglect, so suitable for a good quality production.
